General Info - the Rat Kings arena is accessible from 1 location which is the drop onto the stair case, however this drop can be reached 1 of 2 ways. First is to go through the sewers and second is to stomp on the grate in the settlement and it will drop you right before the stair case. nothing special happens upon entering the arena.
Rat King is a boss that has a stagger bar, that will drop loot and 34 - 35 xp.
Mechanics[]
Attacks - The Rat King has 5 attacks that will do physical or decay damage. and the special feature of his boss fight is that rats will periodically come through the pipes and into the arena to fight with their king.
- Swipe - Rat King will glow then then pull his left arm back and do a cleave in front of him
- Double Swipe - Rat King pulls his left arm far back and hunches over then will start running foward while swiping twice
- Charge Swipes - Rat King will glow red, hunch over then do a short leap backwards and run forward swiping 4 times
- Overflow - will look at one of the grates in the arena then raise his arms and cause a green circle to appear and start filling up, once the circle is filled up it becomes a toxic area that is now a red circle and will start lobbing 7 projectiles in an arc trajectory that will then make toxic areas where they hit and will last 30 seconds.
- Stomp - Rat King will glow red then raise his arms up and then his leg and stomp 3 times
Strategy - Rat King is extremely hard for ranged characters because of the adds(units spawned by a boss) because of this for players struggling the skill Ricochet can help alot. another thing to note for players struggling against the toxic areas of the arena, when the Rat King starts his overflow attack try to move far away from him and when the smaller toxic areas are lobbed at you try to stay in the same area right before it hits then move out. Doing so will make most of the toxic areas stack ontop of each other.
